UPMSP UP Board 12th Exam 2022: A controversy has arisen over the arrest of three journalists in connection with the leak of the question paper of the Intermediate English examination of the Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh. Three journalists Ajit Kumar Ojha, Digvijay Singh and Manoj Gupta are also among the 34 people arrested by the police in connection with the question paper leak last Wednesday. Ballia Police has come under the scanner for the arrest of journalists. However, the police is not giving any clear answer on this matter. A video of journalist Digvijay Singh arrested in the paper leak case has surfaced. It is seen in the video that when the police is arresting the journalist and taking him to the concerned court, he is raising slogans against the district administration.

In the video, journalist Digvijay Singh says that the real face of the Ballia administration has come to the fore. He said that through sources he had got the copy of the leaked question paper, which he had published in a Hindi daily newspaper published from Varanasi. Singh said that after this the administration got him arrested and it was a criminal act of the police. Ajit Kumar Ojha, a journalist of a Hindi daily newspaper published from Varanasi, was arrested by the Ballia city Kotwali police after the question paper was leaked. Journalist Ojha, while talking to reporters at the time of his arrest, alleged that he had published the news of the question paper leak in the newspaper. After this the police reached his newspaper office and ransacked the office and arrested him. Along with this, the journalists present in the office were abused.

Terming himself innocent, journalist Ojha said that he has been arrested for discharging his duties as a journalist. Superintendent of Police RK Nayyar did not give a clear answer on the issue of arrest of journalists. Talking to reporters, he said that the police is investigating the matter impartially. Based on the role of the accused, the police have taken the action of arrest. The Ballia Police has given clarification on the video that went viral on social media regarding the arrest of journalists. The police has said that the above person has been arrested and sent to jail on the basis of the evidence received in the investigation so far. Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Tripathi said that the police is investigating the matter.
