Patna: In Bihar, on the one hand, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav is going on a jobless journey. On the other hand, the state government is claiming better performance in terms of employment. According to the claim, about 2.5 lakh people have got employment in government and private sectors in the state.

Gift of about two and a half lakh jobs
Amidst the increasing cases of migration in Bihar, the Labor Resources Department has claimed that in the last two years, 2 lakh 54 thousand people have got employment in Bihar. Employment has been given to the youth in both government and private sectors. The department believes that on the one hand where employment opportunities have decreased in other states. At the same time, Bihar is giving employment to deserving youth.

Labor resource claim on EPFO data
The Labor Resources Department is making this claim on the basis of data received from the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). According to Jivesh Mishra, Minister of Labor Resources Department, 2 lakh 54 thousand new accounts have been opened in EPFO in the last two years. Opening of new accounts means new and organized employment.

Lack of employment in the private sector
At the same time, Minister Jivesh Mishra also says that along with government jobs, the accounts of those working in private sectors have been opened in Bihar. The minister’s claims have their place. But the reality is that there is no employment in the private sector in Bihar. The youth of Bihar also believe that there are means of employment, but there is nothing here for the private sector.

Recruitment through Backlog Recruitment
The government’s claim may be right in its place. But in reality the reality is something else. Actually the backlog vacancy in the last three years. They are being filled through different commissions. Especially Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) and Central Selection Board (CSBC) are continuously taking out recruitments, giving appointment letters. Bihar Public Service Commission has given about 3 thousand permanent jobs in two years. At the same time, 11 thousand 400 people have got permanent jobs through the Central Selection Board.

Employment big issue in Bihar
It is worth noting that the issue of employment is big in the state. NDA has returned to power promising employment to 19 lakh people. Recently, the demonstration of thousands of youth on the complaint of rigging in the results of NTPC is also in the mind of the people. In such a situation, the government can pat its back by making claims. But, in reality, much still remains to be done on this.
