JEE Main April session exam will be conducted from July 20-25 while the May session exam will be held from July 27 to August 2, 2021. This was announced by union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Tuesday.

The minister took to microblogging website Twitter and said that it was a quite long time since I conversed with you (students). Today again I will talk to you all at 7pm and will share important information relating to the third and fourth phase of #JEE Main examination 2021.
The JEE Main exam for February and March sessions were conducted successfuly but due to Covid-19 pandemic induced lockdown in the country the the April and May exams were postponed.
According to the sources, the National Testing Agency could conduct the April and May session examinations in the months of July and August respectively. If the NTA decides to conduct examination of both the sessions then it would likely be conducted after July 20 and in the first week of August 2021 considering the buffer timing of minimum 15 days.
While some are saying that the minister could merge both the exams and hold only one exam in the month of August 2021.
Earlier, the NTA had announced to conduct the medical entrance exam NEET 2021 on August 1, 2021. It is highly likely that the exam be postponed further.
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) comprises of two papers. The Paper1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments, as well as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.
Candidates of UPSEE (2021) will take JEE (Main) 2021. The Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the Country. From this year, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow will also use the score sheet of JEE (Main) – 2021 for admission to the B.Tech / M.Tech (Integrated)/B.Arch. Courses in its affiliated colleges across the State.
Starting 2021, a candidate has option to apply for one Session or more than one Session (February/March /April /May) together and pay exam fee accordingly. In other words, if a candidate wishes to apply only for one Session, he/ she has to pay Examination Fee only for that Session during the current application period and will have opportunity to apply again for the remaining March/ April / May Sessions.
