Application and Support:

Here you will find everything you need to know about starting your career within DHL.

We want your application to have the best chance of success. That’s why we’ve outlined the application process, given you tips on how to write a memorable application form, and answered some of the most frequently asked questions about applying for jobs with us.

Application Process:

The exact application process you experience will depend on several factors: role, location and division or business sector. Having said that, the purpose of the process is the same: to get to know each other better. So while we can’t tell you what stage you’ll go through, we can give you a rough idea of what to expect.

Online Application:

The best place to find jobs is online. Once you have found the role you are interested in, click on ‘Apply’. You will then be able to fill out your application and upload any relevant documents, such as your CV and letter of recommendation (ideally, in PDF file format).

As soon as you submit your application, you should receive an automated email from us confirming that we have received it. We will then review your application to see if your skills and qualifications are a good fit for the role.

Depending on the position you applied for, the next steps may be a telephone interview, a personal interview or an invitation (or a combination thereof) to an assessment center.

Telephone Interview:

If your application fits the requirements of the role well, we will invite you for a telephone interview with a member of our team. This will allow us to further assess your abilities and gain a better understanding of who you are.

Personal Interview:

Assuming that all went well during the telephone interview, we will invite you for a personal interview with HR and/or the hiring manager. This will be your opportunity to talk more deeply about your skills and experience and show us your personality.

Assessment Center:

Impress us during the interview and we will invite you to our assessment center for certain positions.

The final stage of the application process is onboarding.

Tips for Writing the Perfect Application:

Your application is vital to any new career move. With your cover letter and recommendation letters, that’s all your potential employer needs to know about you. Therefore it is necessary to fix it.

Every application must meet three requirements: to be organized, well structured and complete. If you really want it to stand out, it has to be personal as well.

  • Orderly
  • Well Structured
  • Complete
  • Personal

What to expect during a job interview?

To help you prepare for your interview, here’s a look at what you can expect based on the role you applied for.

  • The interview will usually last between 30 and 60 minutes. In most cases, an employee from the department you applied for will be present alongside someone from HR.
  • In most cases we will start by asking questions about your CV. You will have the opportunity to describe in detail the phases of your career that have been most important to your development.
  • We’ll then ask specific questions about your professional experience, such as: What were your responsibilities and what did you like about them? What are your powers? In what ways can you improve? Why are you particularly qualified for the role?
  • Lastly, we will ask about your current situation. Why are you looking to move forward, how can you contribute to our success right now, any priorities you have within DHL, etc… anything that will allow us to find out if this is the right role for you!
