The minister informed that a total of 2, 89,023 candidates registered in the high school certificate main exam 2021 organized by CGBSE. Out of which, 2, 86,850 candidates appeared in the examination. Results of 2, 84,107 candidates were declared. This includes 1, 30,561 boys and 1, 53,546 girls. A total of 2, 76, 817 students have been declared passed and the pass percentage is recorded to be 97.43 per cent.

This year the girls have outperformed boys, the pass percentage of girls is 98.06 per cent while a total of 96.69 per cent of boys have cleared the exam this year. The minister informed that the result of 2,402 candidates has been cancelled while those of 341 candidates have been withheld due to various reasons. Besides, a total of 5,255 candidates failed in the Class 12 examination this year. This includes 3,204 boys and 2,051 girls.
In the declared result, the number of candidates who passed in the first division is 2, 71,155 (95.44%), the number of candidates passed in the second division is 5,570 (1.96%) and the number of candidates who passed the third division is 79 (0.3%) and 13 students were kept in pass category.
“This year the examinations were held at home only due to coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, it has been decided not to release merit list”, said the minister. He congratulated all the students for clearing the exams and wished them bright future ahead. “Failure is the key to success. Hence, the students who could achieve success in this exam should not get disheartened and rather work harder to achieve success by appearing in the next examination”, he said.
The minister also thanked the board and all officials involved for smooth conduct of examinations during the pandemic and declaration of results.
The school education minister informed that a total of 11 candidates registered for the CGBSE Vocational Certificate Exam (Main). All students have appeared and cleared the examination. The pass percentage was recorded to be 100 per cent this year.
Meanwhile, a total of 2, 77, 563 candidates had enrolled for higher secondary school certificate exam 2020, out of which 2, 75, 736 had appeared for the exam. This included 1, 29, 315 boys and 1, 46, 421 girls. Out of this, results of 2, 75, 495 candidates were declared. The total number of candidates who passed the exams last year was 2, 16, 526 i.e. 78.59 per cent. Percentage of girls who have passed the exam was 82.02 per cent and that of boys was 74.70 per cent.
For higher secondary professional examination 2020 held by the board, total 1677 candidates had enrolled, out of which 1660 had appeared for the exam, including 1037 boys and 623 girls. Number of students, who have passed the exam, was 1520, which is 91.63 per cent of the total number of students that had appeared for the exam.
